All right people. It's been a while and I'm going to come back in here with the fervor that I had before.

Here is your little programming update. System analysis will maintain it’s focus on craft but it’s going to be a bit more dedicated to a few big events moving forward.

Awards! Launchapalooza

I'm going to do an update about some of the awards that I am arranging. I want you guys to understand that this is going to be more of an interview type thing, and I have a lot of interviews pending and that I've been trying to work out audio and video type interviews. They are not really working out so well because of my schedule, but I'm open to doing a lot more interviews now, specifically about the events that I've set up in the future. Also I have a personal assistant to smooth things over so that I should help me make these run.

To be blatantly clear, I am not aiming to make any money off of these following things except in the sense that I'm going to be making a book eventually for profit (assuming my launchapalooza book does well).

The next three things that I mention are the immersive quill awards (IQA), launchapalooza, and the proposed self-published with RPG bake Off. These are all things I'm doing because I did not see these things, and I wanted to create them. Again, I am not expecting to make any money except if the book that I make for it launchapalooza does well. I want these things to exist to showcase good authors, so I am making them exist.

That said, let me let everyone know that launchapalooza is going to be roughly twice a year for as long as I keep writing and then maybe somebody else will take it on after me. 

This newsletter is going to focus on both the craft and the process and whatever else I feel like posting.

Launchapalooza (LPZ)

Launchapalooza (LPZ) will have its own post in a second, but that will be the bulk of the interviews for the next two months. The main reason I'm not I'm posting and interviews is because the event starts on December 6th and basically I want to interview the person and then like have a link to their stuff there. I’ll have them all setup and ready to go on my end, pending their links. I’ll be talking to a lot of newer authors about their process.

LPZ starts with the idea and conception to an actual fiction where you're supposed to critique with people with your peers. Over ~8 months you work it out, and in the end you'll have a finished product, a good blurb, and you will have the best opportunity to make a run at Rising Stars or your best opportunity to gain some followers.

I designed this after realizing that I only wanted to personally release a new series once or twice a year. I settled on two “launches”.

Then I had the thought of, “Hey, if I'm going to do this, I'm going to do one in December. I'm going to do it on December 6^th (after writeathon) and then I'm going to invite my friends to launch with me.”

And then in other news, I want to do a second launch probably in June based off a 6-month timeline. Personally, I'm looking at doing a trilogy or an ongoing series for each one of these.

I get the feeling that I'm going to keep doing trilogies or three book series for the time being until I have something that I really want to continue for longer than that. I may continue to be seen because I'm not sure what Bodega Cat is going to be after book three or four. I enjoy it immensely, but I’m not sure where else I should take the story after four books.

Immersive Quill Awards! (IQA)

The second event that I am, I formed a non-profit board for it is associated with the immersive Ink Discord server is the Immersive Quill Awards (IQA).

Last year we ran these and called them the Inkies. Due to many people using that name we are changing it. We formed a board and have more solid rules for this year.

I'm going to do a post just on that, but basically there's a forum where you submit you must be on the Discord server. You had to be a member of the Discord for at least like a day or something like that. There are rules to stop gaming the system based on last year but there’s also like a meme category.

I'll post that in a separate newsletter, but basically any fiction/book/audiobook that was released within the calendar year of 2025 is eligible.

You can't nominate yourself. You can ask for a friend in nominate you.

Since there are not really any industry awards in the niche of progression fantasy, this kind of fills that gap. (There was the Stabbies but that’s not doing it and the other ones would be the Hugos/Nebula awards)

It does not just cover progression fantasy. There's like 25 awards. Some of them are just for immersive ink internal stuff. But I would like someone to be nominated in every category.

Yes, even the meme categories.

It would really warm my heart.

We're going to announce the winners at Winkon which is the winter immersive ink convention. I'm going to do the headline keynote thing with Euphridia and we're going to go over comedy and stuff like that.

Euphy and I will announce several of them in our persentation and then other presenters will announce in theirs. It's aimed towards writers and we want to celebrate writers/authors.

Eventually we're going to separate the stuff that's for writers and the stuff that's for the fans because the awards here are for people at have done great work that may or may not have been recognized either through followers, views or whatever.

When I have more information on Winkon, I’ll post that. It’s an exciting season! 

Self Published LITRPG BAKEOFF/Blog off (Finalized Name pending)

This is a conceptual idea that I’m asking for help with. Mostly I need judges but I will also need self published authors to eventually give us their work.

I want to do a series of judging panels and in essence we're going to do a thing to recognize self published authors.

We're going to call this self-published LITRPG bake off or blog off.

The idea is that each team is going to get a certain amount of books from self-published authors to review and we're going to divide them up and we're going to decide which one is the best for that year and hopefully we can present them that award at lid RPG con in July or if not then during Inkon which is going to be in June and virtual. 

I did have a very heavy hand in setting up the first Immersive Ink convention or InKon in June 2025. I’m still heavily involved in the next ones, but Levi has helped a ton, and we have a staff putting together great things.

Again, I wanted to make a thing, so I did it.

The point of the self-published bake off is to highlight LITRPG books that are written well. I want to honor self-published books that may have not and gotten the critical acclaim and we just give him a chance to be in the spotlight.

We're also going to highlight all the finalists and then hopefully some of the judges can do reviews of the other ones even though it is not required for every single one to have a long form review. I will have a newsletter just out about where I do a call for judges also on my website because this is going to be detached from immersive Ink, even if that’s my people.

I'm going to ask a lot of readers to step up to be volunteer judges.

I'm looking for a judge teams that is groups of people to judge together. Ideally there will be one round of slush pile per team and then they will advance one or two to the finals.

I want to allow between 100-300 books/entrants, but I will need the judges to back this up.

I want this to become and institution like the self-published fantasy and sci-fi contests.

I'm looking to get 10 judge teams where like a team could be at least two people. If I can't get two people to join as a group, I might ask some people to like form a group together. Who knows, that has all to be determined. Suffice to say I'm excited that I have the basis for what's going to happen for this.

And if you're just here to read stuff, there's going to be a bunch of new fictions that are all actually ridiculously good because they have been baked in the Weaver oven of LPZ. And my goodness, when you put some new writers together and you have them critique each other, I know they all get exponentially better.

I don't have any favorites but I do know that they're all like uniformly all good. So, get out there and kill it.
